Lin, I put some warm water over dry kibble. They approach it like it
is soup, but get the water off first. It helps. I also serve both in
a bowl as he does not like the water bottle.

Some people have swallowing problems, also known as dysphagia. Speech
pathologists add a thickener to fluids to help make it easier for them
to swallow. I do not know what would be appropriate to add to the water
of a ferret since fiber is out, but you may be able to put some ground
up kibble in it just to help thicken it up. Pour enough water over the
top that it sits on it before absorbing. And, after the water is gone,
they usually eat the wet kibble as well. I keep a water bottle beside
it to keep wetting it down.
