Hi--

Does anyone have any experiience with the hormone shot being effective or
ineffective after a breeding may have occured?

I'm babysitting four whole ferret jills. All of them came into season,
two were dud studded, two were given the hormone shot.

The escape artist got out and may or may not have spent the night with my
whole male who was out that night and a few hours with another male who
was out. I didn't notice she was out of her cage, until I found her
asleep with the boy.

The owner/breeder says there is only a 50/50 chance the hormone shot
blocked a pregnancy. I need to treat her as if she were pregnant and get
a nusrery cage set up. (I'm a former breeder, so I don't have of those
kinds of questions). The litter would be due around the end of March, if
it occured.

With the false pregnancies, I've been treating all the girls as if they
were pregnant. They were all due to leave for their new homes around the
end of March.
