No one has done a study on how many human years equal a ferrets. The ratio
of 1 to 7 for dog years is not exactly true either, but accepted by many.

IN MY EXPERIENCE: I consider ferrets to be fast growing and then slow down
as they get older. In other words, a ferret is fully grown at 6-8 months,
or 10-15 years human. Then the process slows some, with a ferret at 1
year = 20 year human, ferret 2 years = 25 years human, and ferret equal 3
years = 30 year human. From then on it seems for every ferret year = 10
human years. Ferrets are considered geriatric at 5 years, or 50 human
years. Ferrets living to 7 or 8 years are really old in people years, and
a ferret does get to 10 and even 12 once in awhile.

But to simplify things, consider ferrets 1 year to every 10 human years.
