I agree it is a bad sitution and that it is a terrible thing to happen to
a wonderful shelter.  BUT........
 
You really can't say the vet is greedy.  He has to pay for overhead,
medications, surgical procedures, etc., and if he isn't paid, HE has
to absorbe the cost, which, if it becomes too much, may result in him
having to close his clinic.
 
I realize that it is hard to come up with funds for a rescue shelter, I
would start one of my own if I had the money and space, but I can't.  But
to blame the vet for wanting to keep himself afloat isn't really fair.
 
Just my 2 cents worth......no offence meant.
