We've "duct taped" our sofa, so that they can't get in between the seat and
backing.  So even if they get under the cushion, the duct tape is blocking
them.  They're persistant though, and NOTHING is ever ferret-proofed.  You
just keep trying.  I know we do!  And its a never ending battle, and we've
taken stock in 3M Duct Tape.
