Hi,

we are owned by two little guys, Gizmo and Zorro. Both are cute as can be
and we love them very much.

We do have a small problem with Zorro. Occasionnaly, (since he arrived, it
happenned 4 or 5 times), he starts sneezing real hard and one time it
lasted for 2 minutes. When I say that he sneenes hard, I mean that his
head snaps from side to side from the sneezing.

Of course we keep Zorro and Gizmo in a big cage, with clean old t-shirts
and pants on the floor and a litter made out of pelleted wood wich doesn't
produce a lot of dust. And of course, we keep our home very clean. We do
have a dehumidifier but we don't really have a choice because in the winter
(wich is now over... yahoo) we do get a lot of humudity, so much so that
our window frames had begun rotting.

We will consult our vet in a week or two but I'd like to get some opinions
first on what could be causing that.

Also, Zorro has a problem with one of middle fingers from his rear right
leg. We guess that it was broken when he was a little younger (he's 6
months old now) and now the last part of the articulation of that finger is
pointing up (well not at 90 deg. but more like 45 deg). It doesn't seem
to bother him at all since he jumps and runs a lot more then Gizmo and is
always playful and never complains. But we did see our vet about it and we
had x-rays taken and our vet recommended amputing the little finger because
the bone seems to be broken in several places in little bits and pieces.

I'm afraid that if we leave it to be, when he gets older it'll start to
bother him or hort him or cause other problems. But I'm also afraid of
having him operated on because I've read that ferrets don't respond
expecially well to anasthetics. The problem is not the money since it
costs 80$ for the opration. And of course I've read the medical FAQ at
ferretcentral so I'll make sure that no bad drugs are used.

Can you help us ?
