I'm going to have to disagree with Ulrike. I have seen ferrets die from
being taken away from their owners. Perfectly healthy ferrets can die
from losing their people. I adopted one and took him to the vet three
different times but the vet could never find anything physically
wrong. He just quit eating and even force-feeding him became almost
impossible. Finally he died in my arms one day while I was cuddling
him. I truly believe he died because he couldn't be with his people
any longer.
