Hello! My name is Kim and I have 3 (and sometimes 4 or more) ferrets. My
first ferret was co-owned by my room-mate and myself. We got him from a pet
store, and he has that disease I can neither spell nor pronounce that means
he is deaf and sleeps like the dead.We named him Voodoo, after his funky
little weasel dance. We called it the Voodoo dance and it just stuck. He is
white with silver markings, and has red eyes.My next ferrets were rescues,
the people who had them were nasty, and had the poor dears in a cage
together with 6 inches of poop in it withmaggots living in it,and both were
starving. The girl was a darling, and got placed easily. The boy was a mean
little devil, dubbed Taz by his former owner.Well, he bit me the first day,
just when I picked up the cage top bring them home.I handled him with heavy
cowhide work gloves, and fed as much as he wanted to eat after the first
day.3 days later he was sweet and tame and went with me to a daycare to
educate the kids on ferret care and ownership. You see, ferrets had only
been legal here for about 4 months at that point, and became a *fad pet*.
I renamed him Fidget, and now he is a mommas boy, and something akin to a
soulmate.I did 2 more rescues and then my roomie went his own way and took
Voodoo with him.(We are still friends and Voodoo spends time here with us
still now and then)

Fidge became lonely and depressed.I did 2 more rescues and they are still
here today to keep Fidge company.Sebastian is nippy, and learning NOT to do
it.Sabrina is a little vixen and loves to make trouble.I allow my ferrets
free run of the house several times a week.

I also have dogs, Samoyeds, and rescue them too.My rescues are not allowed
to interact with my ferrets, because one of them cornered my beloved Fidge,
and sent him into shock.I personally own 3 of the dogs. The cats ignore
the ferrets mostly (I have 2 cats, who adopted me, not the otehr way
around!) but the ferrets love to gang up on the cats.Fidget always comes
when called.he has a sweet tooth. He is and always will be my favorite.I
will never part with him. I love my furry herd, and am always able to
rescue ferrets, as I have 4 empty cages.Mine live in the huge almost 5 foot
tall,2 foot deep and 3 foot wide cage with numerous tubes, hammocks and
toys. If there is a ferret rescue website anyone has out there listing
contacts for rescue, with my blessing add my name and email address for an
Ohio contact.I am in Columbus, Ohio.I look foraward to chatting with all of
you and as always, learning more and more about these adorable critters.I
have a friend who has ten ferrets, and he loves them so much. They're
addictive!
