Several people in the past have mentioned pet ferrets killing wild
rodents, and some (I think more -- at least it feels that way) have
mentioned small domestic birds being killed.
 
On the other hand you will also find occasional unusual stories of some
ferrets adopting rabbits, mice, birds, etc.  There is a past post in
which someone came into a room only to see her ferret carefully picking
out pieces of kibble and laying them to the side.  When the person
changed vantage point the ferret turned out to be carefully feeding a
little mouse snuggled up at her side.
