Hello everyone. As some of you know, I have been having a terrible battle
against green slime with my little girl Abby. She was in the vet for
almost a week, but came home almost no better. She was put on Biaxin as a
"last chance" antibiotic and finally it did seem to work against the slime;
however, she never really got better. She has had to be syringe feed and
always stresses after a feeding or meds with mouth pawing and teeth
grinding. I began to suspect this wasn't just stomach ulcers we were
dealing with, but something more underlying that was preventing her from
getting well. I took her back for blood work today and sure enough, her
blood sugar was very low. The diagnosis is insulinoma. At least I know
what we are dealing with now. The vet feels hopeful that with meds and
diet we may be able to control it for a least a year. So, now I need to
know some good websites for finding all I will need to know to battle
insulinoma for as long as we can.

I guess I knew it was only a matter of time before something like this
happened. Abby is up there in years. I sure wish their little life spans
were longer......we get sooo attached.

Thanks for any help.

Eileen
