Nothing obscure about this ferret reference - and it's a doozy!  I think
Dave Barry and Jeff MacNelly (he draws Shoe) have ganged up on us!  A
political cartoon by MacNelly, caught my eye, in which a coffee house patron
says to the counter person "This (coffee) tastes like weasel poop".
Aaaaaack.  The cartoon was within the Dave Barry column, about the
differences between (us) caffeine needing individuals and (you) recreational
coffee drinkers.
 
It seems (so says Dave) that on the Island of Java, there lives a weasel
cousin he calls a Luwak, which ingests coffee berries.  Well, we all know
about the short time span between in-go and out-come.  In go the berries,
and out come the beans, still in "bean" form.  These beans are then
gathered, washed, roasted, and sold.  Hey, I'm just quotin' Dave here!  He
says they're selling it in Atlanta (I always knew the South would be good
for SOMETHING!) for $18.75 an ounce!
