This sounds great especially for those of us in areas without any ferret
clubs, you (Bob C.) also made the comment:

>Is ANY organization doing use jobs nationally? To be honest, I think FML
>members have fought more national fights than any single existing
>organization: Kodo being perhaps one of the best examples. It would be
>interesting to see how much effort was made by FML members for Kodo compared
>to any existing "national" organization.

I am not currently nor have ever been a part of a ferret organization (new
to ferrets in general, 2 months FML, 1 month ferret ownership) so I cannot
agree or disagree on this point, but my first impression would be if this is
so why doesn't the FML expand into that national (or even international)
organization we are already a strong group with good leaders (both actual
leaders and those that we just view as leaders because of their experience
and helpfulness) If I understand your point correctly this would not mean
that other organizations are being cast down, because they have their place,
but rather that through this organization they would cooperate and deal with
the important issues. this is what I have seen in the FML, think about it
how many different ferret groups are represented here? how many shelters in
how many states and countrys? So we don't have regular meetings or a
current government, this could be set up, at least what of it is needed
could be, and so Far we really haven't had any "Politics" that I know of
just cooperation. This is my opinion, but I feel the FML is a good start
for what Bob C. has talked about.

So lets see what everyone else thinks, how about it. lets try working
together it's worked so far Look how far the FML's work has come so far, How
many states are no longer ferretless, look at the progress with Kodo (He has
come farther than any of the others sacrificed before him, and far enough
that even if they won't listen and he is lost (God Forbid) he will not die
in vain action has been started and Kodo's situation is too visable for them
to ignor as long as we keep it up), Look at the progress of AB363 it's gone
farther than ever and farther than many thought possible. we should keep
this up, and as Bob said the need is there, Can the FML fill that need if
expanded into this type of organization? anything is possible.

[Moderator's note: Too tired, too much to do and too depressed over Kodo
tonight to answer this, but this needs more than an FML. I hope we can
continue to discuss the topic. BIG]
