It's been close to six years since I was on here last as my (now ex)
husband developed an allergy to ferrets and we were forced to get rid of
our brood six years ago. It was terrible as we both adored the fuzz butts
and missed them long after we found loving homes for them. Well, as the
allergy issue no long applies I've recently adopted a 4 month old silver
male ferret (named "Alacrity Sonsy Parker" or Al for short) to keep me
company. I'm glad I've been through this before as it was easy to figure
out exactly what I would need to get along with him without running back to
the store a dozen times (and since I live 4 hours from a pet store with a
decent selection of ferret stuff this would be an issue). It's wonderful
to be back on the list (it was just to tortuous at the time to read all the
cute posts and know I couldn't bring a fuzzy baby home), although I doubt
many remember me even though I was a fairly active poster.

ENOUGH SOLILOQUIZING! I do have two questions.

First - Does anybody have a suggestion on an effective way to block a
"floor board" style radiator that runs the entire length of my room. "So
far" Al has not tried to squish under there, but I know it is just a matter
of time and I want to block this escape hatch off soon. As I rent the
joint I'm in I would like to find a way to do this without having to drill
many holes or engage in major construction.

Second - does Bob Church have a web site? I used to enjoy his posts a lot
(especially the ones describing teaching his ferrets to enjoy swimming,
that still amazes me).

Well I can tell by the dooking I have to fish Al out of my underwear
drawer again.

Hugs to you all.

To keep a ferret happy you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.
