Healthy ferrets are pretty resistant to salmonella usually so it is
definitely NOT the worst form of food poisoning as far as most ferrets
are concerned, BUT when they do get it it can incredibly hard to treat
(which is one reason why even many of those people who choose to
otherwise feed raw foods will go to high nutrition types of ferret
kibbles for sick ferrets since ferrets whose health is compromised
are more vulnerable to multiple types of food borne infections).

People get salmonella more easily than healthy ferrets so take care
for your own health, too, please.
