So often shelters are the recipients of ferrets that have had a
loveless life and you can see it the minute you look at them. You can
see it in their eyes, on their balding skin, on that old break in their
leg that someone never bothered to have a vet check out because they
had better things to do with their money. We don't know of any shelter
that could or would turn away a ferret in that position. But there
aren't many shelters that have enough spare cash laying around to pay
for an intake that required so much vet care up front. SOS and the
Blizzard Memorial Fund can help. In a flash, SOS can make the burden a
little lighter for a shelter that has opened its door and heart to a
