Isn't balding on the tail a possible sign of adrenal cancer?

A few months ago, I noticed that lany had a large bald area on her tail. I
took her to the vet. Lily went also (they always go together even if only
one needs to...I can't stand a pitiful little face watching me take her
sister on a trip) and while we were waiting, I noticed that Lily's tail was
balding too!!! So, naturally I had the vet look at both of them. He
determined that Lany had probably been chewing on her tail due to allergies.
Lily was anybody's guess...did she do it or did Lany do it? Anyway, he gave
both of them antihisthamine shots and they were fine and all the hair grew
back. My point is that though you should have it checked out, it hopefully
is just something minor like allergies.
