Hi all--

In the November issue of Jane magazine (a women's fashion magazine), there
is a question section on page 158 where someone wrote in to ask if ferrets
make good pets. The response is pretty negative, saying that they bite
(although she admits that someone is more likely to get bitten by another
person than a ferret) and are a rabies risk. She also says that they are
illegal in CA and HI (and she says NY) because they're "too well-endowed in
the tooth department". The columnist ends by recommending that this person
is much better off getting a kitten than a ferret. I think it's time for a
little polite education!!!! Check out the magazine if you can, and
responses to the columnist can be sent to [log in to unmask]

Thank you all once again---
