First broken teeth. I have a ferret with a chipped tooth, and there is no
reason to remove it. If the break didn't hit the pulp or a nerve in the
tooth as in us humans there is really no reason to remove it. But as in my
case. Two broken teeth of my own something needs to be done. The tooth
will die and cause all sorts of problems. It can even kill if nothing is
done. So unless you want to spend a lot of money for a root canal and caps,
have the tooth pulled. It took over a year for my teeth die. I don't know
how long it would take for a ferrets tooth to die. I have my vet check
Marries' tooth once a year. It is still healthy, but it's just a small chip
off a canine. If the chip/brake was alittle further down the tooth I would
have had it removed.

Fur ball removers. I give my ferrets Cat Lax at least once a week. Now
that they are changing coats, two to three times a week. Just a 1/4 to 1/2
inch mixed with olive oil and ferretone. I almost lost my ferret Sebastain
to a fur ball. It caused a blockage. I didn't know better at the time.
After spending well over a hundred dollars and a lot of crying, (real men do
cry) he passed a fur ball about two inches in length and a half inch in
diameter. We were just about to do surgery when he passed it. I still find
it hard to believe that thing came out his back side. Another good reason
to give a laxative once a week is just in case. You never know what the
ferret may have gotten into. Accidents do happen, if by chance your ferret
gets into some rubber or such a laxative given two times a day for two to
three days may make a big difference. Rubber snakes for example.

Fleas, I got advantage I believe from my vet. I have never been so flea
free. It's been almost three months now. I live in Florida and we haven't
had a freeze in two years. The fleas here are incredible. Borax helped but
I still got them. I only used the Advantage twice. I don't really let the
ferrets out for walks due to fleas. I may just start now after using this
stuff. I know Sebastian hated the outdoors after all he spent the night out
once in the middle of a nasty thunder storm. Taz loves the outdoors. She's
even started to try and dart out when people come in and out the door. I
think I my have cured from this but she will still sit by the door when she
knows I'm out there.

QUESTION... What is the best harness for a small female. I got harnesses
from Mako and Sebastian but the girls slide out of them as if they weren't
even on. I can make them so tight their eyes are bulging out and they still
slip out. They are the old figure 8 kind with a clip on the back. Never
really liked them but they worked on the guys and that's all I could find at
the time. I really don't want to spend a lot of money to find out I got the
wrong kind. Any suggestions will help, and money is really not an object.
I just don't want to spend the money on one set of harnesses just to find
out need a different style. Thanks.
