Ferret Legality in NY

Ferrets are legal in NY, but you need a license to keep them.
It is $10 per year, and the address for them is:
New York State Departmen of Environmental Conservation
Division of Fish and Wildlife
Special Licenses Unit
50 Wolf Road
Albany,  NY  12233-4752
 
They've never checked with any owners I know of about whether
they have a license, but it is a good idea to get one anyway.
