Hello ferret lovers!

I am amazed how many people really 'love' their ferrets. I thought I
was strange to be so attached to mine. Pongo took a two day out door
trip this past weekend. He got out sometime Sunday (about 10:00 am) and
returned Monday at 3:00 am). He was scratching at the front door to be
let in. We had walked the neighborhood with squeak toys, posted signs,
told all the children we saw, notified the humane society and prayed.
We have taken all of the little ones out on their leashes around the
house, showed them the 'safe' places (under the house or shed) and
gave them the idea of where home is. I do think this has helped give
them a sense of direction. Pongo is one who we need to watch as he
really wants to be an outside guy. We are so relieved and happy to
have him back! :-)

Ives, the new guy, is exploring more. he thinks all rugs are to be
messed and will follow me around as I straighten them just to mess
them up again. He loves cherrios, dried pineapple, and anything you
are eating! The others are slowly accepting him. I figure another
two weeks and he will be sleeping with some of them. He doesn't
have a problem eating in the same area so progress is being made.

Willie did not have surgery on Saturday. He has a spot in the lung
area and the doctor wanted the X-ray looked at by a specialist to
try and determine if it looked like cancer or was bronchial
crystallization. If cancer, no operation, just love him and keep him
comfortable. If the other, then we will go with the operation on
Thursday for adrenal tumor. He did have ultra sound and that looked
very good the right gland seems to be unaffected with just the left
tumorous.
