Catherine (Garcia) and I have been exchanging notes, and I asked if I could
say this here. She said yes because she'd appreciate the prayers and
wishes. She has thyroid surgery coming up on Thursday. Those how know
her know that she has multiple surgeries recently, all different things.
Please, please, remember her for Thursday!

I think what the poster is referring to is the first documented case of
anaphylactic shock from a reaction to ferrets. Certainly, hay fever and
asthma are known to be possible from multiple individuals, and if the FML
sample is representative it seems that some people are allergic only to
whole males and those people seem to be more likely to be allergic to cats
than not.

Had another about 50 wishes and cards today! Heard that my server rejected
some, and hope none were lost to the crashes. Spent 5 hours yesterday
and in the wee hours today with thank yous. It may not sound fun to some
because of the crashes. losing my stored addresses, and so on, but it has
been really great fun for me! I have gotten to laugh and blush a lot, and
I'd already had time outside with those I love, fancy food and such (Got up
early with a transatlantic call from two friends we've known for almost 20
years.), plus I got a lot of phone calls from people that evening and night
so it was handy to be around some. It's obvious to me now that it would be
impossible to do this for BIG unless people were alphabetically assigned
certain days in his birthday season; he'd be too flooded with messages to
function, otherwise! So far, 50 is an amazing age!
