Mine are not fed any oils (ferretone, olive, etc), but you'll notice if you
leave their food out that IT'S very oily - leaves spots on cloth, newspaper,
etc.  They get a mix of TF, Eukanuba Lamb & Rice, Iam's kitten, and whatever
else is lying around - sometimes Iam's adult (a friend bought me a bag of
'ocean' so i mix it in small quantities), sometimes MF food, whatever.
Anyway, each ferret prefers a different brand (Noodle: Iam's, Easel: Euk,
Friday: TF) so it all works out.  Their coats vary wildly - Potpie's too
(primarily Iam's adult).  Noodle's, in the summer, is very mink-like -
short, glossy, very slick.  Friday's is thin but soft, and Potpie's is as
average as average gets.  In the winter, every ferret becomes an
outrageously fluffy puffball - Friday looks like a little polar bear or
cotton ball that wandered astray.  :)
 
Actually, maybe Noodle IS part mink.  That'd explain why he's so
funny-lookin' and bitey.
 
Has anyone in the states (who's on the list or who knows someone not on the
list) started feeding their ferrets a more 'natural' diet that includes raw
or unprocessed foods?  Can someone from the UK let me know what amount of
your ferrets' diets include processed/natural (chick culls, etc) foods?
