Anyone who is interested in a list of ferret rescues, shelters, clubs,
contacts, suppliers, vets, etc., should obtain a copy of the STAR*Ferret
Database. There are four ways to get a copy:

1) Join STAR* (Shelters That Adopt & Rescue Ferrets), P.O. Box 1714,
Springfield, VA 22151-0714 -- $10 a year gets you the quarterly newsletter
and periodic updates.

2) Send a long SASE to the above address for the latest edition. (But
it's better if you join! :-)

3) Send e-mail to [log in to unmask] with the single line message
GET FERRET DATABASE -- the STAR* list is part of the ferret archives at
the CUNY listserver.

4) Download a copy from the Small Mammals library in the CompuServe
Petsforum (GO PETSFORU).

The STAR* list is the most comprehensive list of ferret groups out there.
Though it is mainly a U.S. list, the international listings are growing
all the time (the most recent edition lists groups and shelters in Canada,
Australia, the U.K. and Europe). It is compiled and maintained by Pam
Grant, who can be contacted at [log in to unmask]
