There are a couple of bumps that appear on a ferrets tummy naturally.  One
is dead center, left to right and is about 1/3 of the way up the abdomen.
THis is the prepuce of the penis and if she has one, she is a he.  Check
her potty habits.  If she pees right on top of her poop, she is a female.
If she pees about 2 inches in front of her poop, she is a he.  Another
bump that appears and disappears is the tip of the sternum.  When a ferret
folds in the middle, a bump or lump will form just above the bottom of the
ribs on the center line of the body.  It's normal.
