>LETTING GO AND SAYING GOODBYE

I'm new to being a pet human, and I'm new to this message board. So, I
have been waiting until I got a feel for the board until I asked my big
question: "How do you deal with the loss of a fuzzy?"

Being owned by a ferret is different from having a dog or cat. I've lost
dogs and cats, and it really hurts, but I can't even comprehend what will
happen to me when one of my babies has to go. Kevin Bonner's message about
saying good-bye really struck a nerve and made me cry (AT WORK!). My
kiddos are only a year and 3 months, but I am already trying to do a little
preparing. I know fuzzies lives' are soooo short, and I can honestly say
I need them. I am only know about 3 people in the new city I live in (not
counting work acquaintainces)and my being a social hermit won't help me
meet more people. And after 3 years of being so socially shy, I got my
ferrets. They have brought so much meaning and hope to my existence. My
being shy and having no life outside our little apartment suits them just
fine. And it suits me too. So, to say goodbye to something so important
will take a lot of getting ready.

Thank you all for sharing your loves and losses here. Thank you all for
rescuing helpless fuzzies everywhere.

Sincerely,
Dezir'ee
