On Sunday, a massive and fast-moving storm hit Washington, Illinois,
a town of 15,000 people located 145 miles southwest of Chicago. Winds
reached up to 200 miles per hour and many houses were reduced to piles
of sticks. The storm triggered multiple tornadoes, killing at least
sixteen people. The cost of the damage is estimated at $1 billion, the
devastation is simply tremendous and horrifying. Aid is currently on
it's way to the area, however, the last places to receive aid are
usually animal shelters. We spoke today to Karly Parker from Project
Hope, a No-Kill Animal Shelterwhich is just 15 miles away from the
hardest hit area. They are currently caring for 200 animals, and their
food stores are nearly empty as they sent much of their supplies
directly to those that are in immediate need. Project Hope has 10
volunteers and is working around the clock to ensure that no animal
is lost and they have agreed to act as a drop-off point for donations
to be distributed to those in dire need.

Karly has provided us a list of products that are in high demand,
