I was in Petco today, picking up treats and playing with the newest
litter of babies. Cute as can be and sooooo tiny. I was tickling
tummies and cuddling as usual. Everything going great, you know the
scene. So, a lady was telling me how much she liked ferrets, but was
afraid of them because the bite. So, of course, I go into how sweet
they are and gentle and all. I'm cuddling this little angel up around my
face, like I've done a hundred times with dozens of ferrets. My sweet
little baby grabs my neck and hangs on. So there I stand, tiny fuzzies
hanging from my neck. Trying not to freak out and scare him. He's doing
his best to get an even better grip on my turkey whattle neck! The lady
I had been telling how nice ferrets are, and what great pets they make,
is having a heart attack. I turn to my husband and say "a little help
here please". At which point he pried (literally) the jaws of this
little fuzz butt off my neck. I scruffed him and petted him till we both
calmed down, while keeping a good watch on that little mouth. What an
experience! It's 12 hours or so later and I still have teeth marks in
my neck. Lesson learned, don't let strange ferrets nuzzle necks. ;D
