Mary,

Try food grade diatomaceous earth. It is safe for your fuzzies (as
long as they don`t inhale a large cloud of the dust!)

Ferrets can walk through it, & lick their paws--even eat the stuff &
it is harmless. However, it is deadly to bugs. It dehydrates their
exoskeletons & they die.

We have used it for years!
