In response to the two people wanting to know what a Glider / Sugar Glider
is ...

A Sugar Glider is a small Australian/Tazmanian/New Zealand marsupial. It is
very similar to a flying squiril, only the females have a pouch and rear
their baby's like kangaroos rear theirs. I believe they are a member of the
possum family.

They are nocturnal, tiny and cute. If they are handled from an early age
they can easily be tamed as pets. They sleep most of the day and come alive
early evening and night time.

There is a good FAQ located at:
http://www.nd.edu/~thussey/pets/gliders/faq/

There is also a bunch of good web sites about them, including:

"The Sugar Glider Information Exchange"
http://www.rtis.com/sugar_gliders/

"The International Sugar Glider Assocation"
http://www.evansville.net/~vrman/Sugar%20Glider%20Info/ISGA1.html

Both of these sites include links to other sites.

I know about these critters since my fiance and I are exploring the
possiblity about becoming sugar glider owners since he is allergic to
ferrets.

I realize these guys have nothing to do with Ferrets ... but they are
darn cute. Hope this answers your question.

Lorraine
