Hi everyone....I am a brand new (I.E. "MAJOR CRIMINAL"!) ferret owner in Ca,
and I want to thank all of you for this...it helps alot!

I am a California D.J., and I am very open on, and off the air, that I am a
ferret owner, (Our station web page mentions my babies in great detail.)
Now, y'all have got me SO worried....should I shut up publically about how
totally cool my ferrets are? Can they really get a search warrant, come in
my house, and just TAKE THEM???? In three short months, these two have
wormed their way right into my heart, and I couldn't EVER give them up.

I have another problem. I have a boy and girl, still young, born on the
fourth of July! My boy, "Little Dude" has got to dig all of his food up,
and out of the bowl, either with his hands, or his nose, before he can eat
it...(off the floor of the cage.) The only problem is, even though I have
linoleum on the cage of the floor, three quarters of the food still slips
down the sides, to the cage bottom. He wastes SO much food that way, which
is pretty expensive. I'm also worried about my girl, "Boo Boo" getting her
fair share.....she's so much smaller than he is, and needs to get to her
food before he pushes it all out! I keep a bowl of food in the cage 24
hours a day...should I maybe just feed a couple times of day, and watch him
while he eats? I hate to yell at him while he's eating, I don't want to
make him nervous at feeding time, like he's not supposed to EAT, or
something. They grew up on "Science Diet", and I switched to "Iams" for
awhile, as someone told me it was better. But, the digging was worse with
the Iams, so I went back to Science Kitten.... Is there a special feeder to
alleviate this problem? Any ideas from anyone?

Bless all of you for being here, and thank you.

Phyllis, Boo-Boo, and Lil' Dude
