I have been owned by my fizzy Jessica for about 5 years now, She is about
6. I think the FML is great, and I have learned a lot from everyone. I
have some questions about Jes because she is sick. Last summer she lost
all the hair on her rear, the vet said she had a tumor and would not make
it thought the summer even if we operated. At that time I promised her
that I would not put her through pain just to extend her life a few months.
Jessica hates pain and doesn't recover well from surgeries, she is the most
petite ferret I have ever seen. Anyway, Jessica is still kicking but in
the last couple of weeks she has lost most of the hair on her back and has
developed a fever and is drinking a lot of water. She is eating good and
sleeping a bit more but I am concerned that she may be on her last leg. I
do not want to put her through surgery because she is old and very small.
She does not appear to be in any pain. Does this sound like an adrenal
tumor? The vet said adrenal tumors will not cause pain is this true? Are
there any other options that would help her without surgery? Private
responses welcome [log in to unmask]
