I have a wonderful male Australian Shepherd named Max. Max is 4. About
6 months ago I brought home a 2 month old ferret and named him Foster. I
really had no idea what to expect. I introduced them to each other very
slowly and always supervised. The result is 2 best friends and the
greatest entertainment I have ever witnessed. The ferret is fast and runs
circles around Max. Max is the gentle giant, nudging with his nose and
mouthing him gentlely. The ferret will jump up and nip Max on the nose or
the butt. Max will turn and try the catch him, getting the ferret all
excited and furthering the play.

I had no idea this would be such a neat thing but I think the Max's herding
genes make him a good natured dog with Foster, the Ferret. It is a joy to
watch them play. Words can not express what can only be appreciated by
video or in person.
