House bill HB 810-Increases penalty for Aggravated Animal Cruelty to a
companion animal under the Humane Care For Animals Act for 2nd and
subsequent offenses from Class A Misdemeanor to a Class 4 Felony.
 
Senate Bill SB 374 and House Bill HB 753-Establishes a new category of
"Animal Torture" under the states Humane Care For Animals Act with the
penalty being a Class 4 Felony for 1st offense and a class 3 Felony for all
others.[The Bills also call for psychological counceling for those
convicted!]
 
House Bill HB 811-Establishs the Dissection Alternatives Act which provides
the opportunity for students thru-out Ill.  to use state of art non animal
alternatives to dissection.
 
CALL PLEASE!!!!  No one cares where you live or what your name is!!!.  We
have called a dozen times so far.  Please help ferrets and others by
calling today and tomorrow and the next day.It does not matter that you
are not in Ill.  They do not ask or care!!!
 
CALL Governor George Ryan and say that you want bills HB 811, HB 810, and
SB 374 and HB 753 passed.
