It seems that being off line has brought about some interesting reading as
I started reading from the most recent issue backwards and I was shocked
and appaled by the articles I read.  But on the other hand was elated by
the responses I saw as well.
 
If the price of the fur kids goes up the only ppl that will have ferrets is
the shelters because there will be very few of us that could afford them.
Providing for them will be the only thing that we could afford.  Purchasing
one would be out of the question.
 
We have 3 fur kids.  One was a store bought M/F and one a rescue ( By Thea
mywife) and L'l Bear who we got from Sam and Still owe her for.  Taz was
our first from a store, Baby Thea got from a new mom who was afraid of the
new born getting bit, and Bear we got from Sam after falling in love with
him on ICQ> all we saw was pictures.  We are not rich,not even well off and
by the governments standards leagally poor.  And I have a good job.  But
one Thing for sure our Kids (of the Fur Kind) NEVER,NEVER,NEVER have done
with out.  They are all healthy, happy and active members of the FLO.
 
Sam is right.  raising the price of Fuzzbutts to those prices will only
cause the destruction of what She and others including my wife and my self
have spent years doing.  We want people to know how wonderful and fun being
a Ferret Mom or Dad can be.
 
Look at the statistics.  there are more dogs and cats without homes than
ferrets.  Ferret Shelters and rescues bring in the unwanted and provide
not only room and board but also Love and Companionship.  I donot know of
any other group of people that spend more time and energy on taking care
of animals that ferret owners.
 
It is true that there is a small group of people that are in it only for
the money but it is a very small group.
 
We need to continue to stick together and take care of our fur kids and
their guardians.
