Yes, it sounds like you have a Marshall Farms Ferret. I'll give you a
little background of what I know. I live about 15-20 mins from North
Rose, NY, where Marshall Farms is located. They are not just breeders,
although thats what they claim for FERRETS. Under the yellow pages in
the Wayne County phone book, they are listed under "Animal
Reseach/Experimentation". From what one of the local pet stores tell
me, it is very "high security" because a few years ago, they were
raided by animal rights activists. Also, when I called them, (to find
out about shots, etc.) they were not too friendly with information.
They almost acted like I was out to get them or something. Anyways, a
ferret from them comes with DISTEMPER, but NOT rabies shots. Also,
from what I understand... Marshall Farms sells the ferrets in bulk
quantities, to an AREA distributor who then sells them to a LOCAL
distributor, who in turn, sells them to the pet store. So you see, my
ferret, and (especially) yours, have probably had quite a trip before
reaching us. BTW, Feasel is very gental too, and RARELY bites.
Although, she does have a thing for my girlfriend's toes (he he he)!
