International Ferret Congress (IFC) is pleased to announce grants
awarded thus far in 2010 in the total amount of $2,200:

- South Shore Ferret Care Shelter in Holbrook, Massachusetts, for
emergency medical expenses for four(4) shelter ferrets that were
rescued from a house fire and survived thanks to the dedication of
Dr. Harrington and her veterinary staff at Randolph Animal Hospital,
Randolph, Massachusetts, and;

- S.O.S. (Support Our Shelters), a non-profit which supports ferret
shelters across the U.S.

In 2009, the IFC awarded grants totaling $2,950 to the following
recipients:

- F.E.R.R.E.T. (Ferret Emergency Response, Rescue and Evacuation Team)

- Ferret City Shelter, Lacey Ruddell, Burlington, WA

- University of Georgia for ADV research

- Father Nature's Ferret Shelter, Wood Ridge, NJ

- Emmett Ferret Shelter, Emmett, ID

- Frank Krupka, DVM for Furretti Ferrets, Avon Lake, OH

- Sponsorship Ring at 2009 Dooktoberfest, Frederick, MD

- The Smithsonian Black Footed Ferret Recovery Program

In the Fall of 2000, the first Ferret Symposium was in Toronto,
Ontario, Canada, the brainchild of Randy Belair, President of the
Ferret Aid Society of Toronto. This symposium was perhaps the first
general education-oriented ferret event in North America. Randy
Belair's vision inspired a small group of dedicated volunteers to
carry on her dream to become The International Ferret Congress.

The International Ferret Congress (IFC) is a non-profit organization
formed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under
section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and in line with our
mission, provides grants to ferret-related organizations that qualify
for exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue
Code.

The IFC looks forward to continuing to provide support to dedicated
ferret-related organizations while providing ferret owners and
veterinarians with access to the latest information on ferret husbandry
and health care. We strongly believe in fostering communication,
cooperation and understanding between other ferret-oriented
organizations, such as clubs, shelters and breeders.
