Dale I got quite a few letters after your last post abou t the shleter adopting
out of a pet store... I understand why you didn't mention the name, but it DID
generate quite a few calls and e-mails to me from folx asking if it was the GCFA
shelter... To clarify. No it was NOT us. We adopt our furries solely from the
shelter after a very careful screening process. Let's put that to bed.
I did receive your snail-mail package of the literature from the San Diego HSUS
expo. Thanks. It was the third such package I received. One item that I found
disturbing was the STAR manual on Ferret Rescue and Care. We have several copies
of this booklet at the shelter. The one striking (make that glaring) difference
is in the diectory of rescues in the back of the booklet. There on the page
where the GCFA shelter is supposed to be, is a white label covering our info and
bearing the other shelter's name and address. This, to me is a slap in the face.
The GCFA paid for that spot.

To the otheres who asked...

Yes the GCFA is having a ferret show this year. October 22nd at DuPage County
 Fairgrounds.
write GCFA p.o. box 7093 , Westchester IL 60154-7093 for an application.

Roger .
