Dear All,
This economy has sent good animal loving folks, as a result of losing
their jobs and homes, into situations where they were forced to give
up their pets, and rarely did any of them have just one ferret. It's
reasons like this I leave my adoption contract open ended..."if for
any reason you are unable to care for..."

Work with me here......................

We, Rocky's, do our best to support those heartfelt tearful situations.
They have been countless over the past few years. Seriously countless,
I'm bad with statistics..........the phone rings, I make an arranged
surrender, they arrive. The phone rings, I make an arranged
surrender.... etc. Like I said, I'm bad, and they all are just running
into each other. I need a secretary or a statistician. The pay for such
a position sucks, but I can guarantee all the ferret kisses your cheeks
can handle!

Then add to the mix the continued stupid ass folks that do impulse buys
of ferrets, house them for a while, and when the stench from neglecting
them becomes too much ...they do the 'right' thing and call us to
'donate' them for adoption. Yep, we gladly take those stinking ferrets
off their hands! Don't even get me started on the college kids and
their family dumps! or, come Sept all the New Year's ya ya's babies
due in Oct...don't get me started!

Please consider coming to OFEST and have the best time of your life!!!!
If you can't, please consider playing with our raffles. There are
almost 200 items, so it's a good chance that everyone will win
something.

Then there's the 50:50 raffle for a buck, we're 10 days out and the pot
is at about $200 and growing each day, that's a CASH PAY OUT..could
mean to the winner, a deslorelin implant plus exam fee, or a year's
worth of kibble, or could be a spa treatment for an overloaded,
under-appreciated ferret owner.....or an Olive Garden for the family,
or years worth of $5 foot longs at Sub Way... or or.......hey, cash
is good, spend it any way you want!!!!! Serious...CASH IS GOOD!

So many great shelters have closed this past year due to the
emotional/physical/financial burden struggle of staying afloat. Shelter
Burn Out, it's real, and it hurts! I'm insane, 18 yrs of ferret
sheltering. Should I continue? Do you all really need Rocky's? I need
to know. I could be doing other things in my life, but I believe I need
to be here, the calling is so great, greater than it's ever been to
rescue and rehome. Damn! I thought by now I'd have this all behind me,
and doing some cruise boat thing, and enjoying my retirement. Don't
get me wrong, I so love what I do, or else...I wouldn't be doing it.

Rocky's is struggling, as all shelters are, but would you today, please
consider supporting us? I so hope that you do.

FML'ers you are the best ever! Thanks for your continued support.

Here ya go..go here, and put Rocky's over the top. I'm 25 ferrets over
my quota of topping off the shelter population. I so need your support.

I'm a crazy ferret person. So are you. We love ferrets. We believe in
rescue. That's why you've stuck with me all these years. Thanks for
sticking with me now.

All the more reason to come party with us on Sat Oct 27th....! Rocky's,
the original party animals! Click on the Oktoberfest details from the
right side menu for directions and more details.

For now, play with my raffles please.

Thanks!
