Hi everyone,
I have a dilemma and need some advice.  A woman I work with has a female
roomate that owns two ferrets.  At first she just had one, with no cage,
and allowed to roam free in the house 24/7.  A couple months later she
got another ferret, I don't know how old either one is.
 
They now have a cage, BUT....they have absolutely NO toys.  She says her
dog is their toy, a doxie.  They have no litter pan in their cage.  She
lets them poop and pee in the bottom of the cage and cleans it about ONCE
A WEEK...OMG..I would die.
 
The woman I work with says there's no talking to her roomate about it,
because "she thinks she knows everything about ferrets".  Oh, did I
mention the ferrets ONLY eat DOG food.  This person also has turtles,
snakes, lizards, etc...so I can only imagine what kind of conditions
they're in.
 
They have hammocks in their cage, but no water, since they play in it
and dump it out.  I'm like DUH... get a water bottle.  So they go all
day without water when she's not there.
 
I'm sure the list goes on.  I know she won't kick the roomate out, so
that's not an option.  If I call the humane society or whatever, the girl
I work with will know it was me, since I jokingly said I was going to
call them.
 
The only thing I can think of is to go there with the girl I work with
and while the roomate is out take them, and tell her they got out of the
house.  It's happened before, they've escaped.  I don't think she'd be
heartbroken.  However, I can't keep them, AND she'd probably go get more
ferrets to replace them.
 
WHAT SHOULD I DO??????  HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
