Hi all,

I posted before the weekend (it was a long weekend in New South Wales)
about my ferrets' green teeth. On Saturday I took them to a vet in
Sydney (recommended by several other vets I rang) and she sold me a
ferret toothbrush and toothpaste, and some larger sized kibble. It turns
out the green teeth is plaque and bacteria (they were just green in the
area between the back molars).

She said that it wasn't too bad at the moment, but if the teeth cleaning
and bigger food didn't help, I would need to get their teeth cleaned by
her under anesthetic. She said it would cost $300- $400 (Australian),
which is $160-$220US. Does this sound about right?

I've tried several times to clean my girls' teeth since. Has anyone got
any tips on how to do it? Do I need another person helping?? The
packaging says that the animal will clean the inside of the teeth, and I
just need to clean the outside - is this right?

I've searched the FML, but I can't find anything that useful, or maybe
I'm just doing it wrong, so if anyone has the time to email me, I'd
appreciate it.

Other than that, they're in fine fettle. I'm glad I went, and even though
I used my birthday money to take them, it was worth it. Soooo worth it!!!

times???"
