just a quickie...
If your little ones don't like squeaky toys, you may want to try what I use.
I keep Finn's food in a rectangular Rubbermaid beverage container. He has
associated the shaker sound with food being poured into his dish.   I just
shake this & call his name when I want him.  He usually comes within 45 sec.
I then top of his dish so he doesn't catch on... (tee-hee...& he still
thinks he's got me trained!)
