A co-worker of mine has a sable female ferret, Peanut, that seems to have a
persistent cough. She seems to cough more after she has been sleeping.
The coughing fits seem to last sometimes 5-10 mins. Her cage mate does
not seem to display any of the same problems at all. The room is well
ventilated, clean bedding twice weekly, and always fresh food and water
available.

She has had her ferret in to see two different Veterinarians in the past
month. One put Peanut on Amoxycillin, which didn't seem to fix the
problem. Another put her on meds thinking perhaps she had a bacterial
infection. Both vets reported clear lungs when examined.

Has anyone else experienced this coughing problem with one of their ferrets
and could offer some advice?

Thanks!
Joey
