I have a question for you people out in net land.

I assume that there is some list compiled somewhere of breeders and I
was hoping that someone could give me a hand checking out this one. This is
the information I have to go on:

Ad in the paper says call (612) CRITTERS for ferret pups.
I call the first time and get the most lovable little old
lady in the world. Explains to me that her husband, who does
the breeding, isnt home because he is out working late cutting
the grass and...blah blah blah...grandmotherly like tangents and
         all.
I call back and get a somewhat likable old man who tells me that
he only does males (because they are easier to descent and neuter)
and how "you cant hardly tell they's been fixed". Tells me, during
the conversation, that he was the one to invent the silver ferret
and that he has a "batch" of black eyed whites and red eyed whites.
The name he gave me was Gabe...didnt give me a last name or the name
         of his "farm" or "stable".

My PERSONAL feelings are that this might be akin to a puppy mill but I dont
REALLY know what goes on with ferret breeders and how they go about breeding
for certain traits. The only information I have to go on is the above and a
'feeling' that something might be a little strange with this guy's farm.

Any information would be GREATLY appreciated.
