Howdy All!

Just had to introduce You All, Our 2 Newest Closet Thieves.

As you may remember, we lost Our Sweet, 1 = year old, Sam 8-30-98 to
unknown reasons. We almost lost Scarlett too, but with Dr. Lindsey help,
she pulled through. Claudia is still courageously battling Insulinoma (&
Adrenal too) I feel truly Blessed to find her still with us. Spanky really
took it hard, and I have worried over his continual grieving. He started
playing with TAZ (our dog) and Dara Nin (our Siamese Cat) more and that
seem to help. But had lost some sparkle when it came to relating to other
ferrets. Since Sam unexpected departure, our household has never been the
same.

I have ferret sat about a dozen ferrets since Sam death, there has always
been a problem with my 3 & the visitors. Spanky didn't like them, they
didn't like him or they picked on my 2 Sweet & Frail Girls (a diffident
NO-NO!) I really wanted to find a guy for Spanky to hang out with. You
know male bonding.

I had looked & prayed for the "right little guy" to come along. Well, just
before Christmas, my Vet's Assistant, Amanda, rescued two ferrets from an
unhappy & unloving home. They are a brother & sister, 1 = years old,
chocolate sables, each bearing a star on their chest, and no marks in their
right ears. Since I was presently Ferret sitting again, I said I'd have to
wait until these two went home. If She (Amanda) hadn't found a GOOD home
for them, we would plan a visit and to see how all 5 do together before
anything concrete was set. (I had to clear getting 2 more ferrets with my
S. O., Gary too.) Well, Doc took care of that too. Gary, is a computer
whiz and while working on the Doc's computer was introduced to the pair and
Doc told him they wanted me to take them. I got a call at work telling me
he was bringing them home, and he did. Our planned visit, was out of the
picture, they were here, like it or not.

We let them out in the front room, totally enclosed. Within 5 minutes,
the female led her brother around the barrier and into the kitchen, we
followed, together they headed directly to my computer room and the ferret
cage. They both nosed into the cage, as if they wanted in. Spanky woke
and wanted out. I figured it now or never & opened the cage. I watched as
Spanky softly grabbed their necks, but only for a few seconds and then the
THREE took off to play. Claudia & Scarlett came over to meet them and they
were gentle & sweet to them. Relieved to say the least. After about 3
hours, I watch the two new guys crawl into the cage & go to sleep in a
hammock with the girls, followed behind by Spanky.

It was and still is as if it was meant to be. We are a family of 5 now.
We named them George & Gracie. Sam had a Ph.D. after his name, but without
a doubt Gracie, has a Masters +. Got to keep 1 eye on her at all times.
But that, dear friends is another post.
