Our ferrets could be portrayed by real people: Ashling by Candace Bergman,
Sherman by Robin Williams, Seven by Roseanne Barr, Glueball by Rosie
O'Donnell, Warp by the actress who does Ally McBeal in that personna but
not hallucinating and more shy, Scooter by either Meatloaf or John Goodman,
Jumpstart definitely by Christopher Reeves, though Sean Connery might pull
him off in a pinch. One of these days need to have one with a Sandra
Bullock personality...

I am lucky that you on the FML are all intelligent and realized when I
meant to say "false positive" instead of "false negative". (Hey, who can
say "sorely pressed for time"? should not have rushed my check of that
post but really am very, very short on time and sometime -- like today --
no time to check.)

Either ALL should be tested, or the shows would have big signs saying that
they don't require testing to warn away folks who don't want that risk.
Hey, as more people become more ADV aware more will refuse to attend the
latter type.

I am not wild about ANY shows letting in ANY unregistered ferrets that
are with visitors or with shelters simply because they do NOT know their
vaccination, CDV, ADV, parasite, ECE, and other medical histories.
Remember the lesson yesterday about the casual attendees who brought ECE
active ferrets to a show, not to enter them but just to view. If shelters
and shows want to work an adoption scenario that does involve having
ferrets present then I think that is only fair to others if they at least
be in a separate room which can be entered after the show area and that no
re-entry to show area is possible. Otherwise, the shleter ferrets brought
would need to only be ones which have been at the shelter for an extended
period so that the chances of their health being good would be known as
would their health histories for an extended time. Strict, yes, but I
think that the health of the ferrets HAS to come FIRST.

BTW, Bill and Diane, you might not have written what Danielle responded to,
but some others HAVE. She didn't put any words into their mouths. Hey,
it's a big list (over 3,000), with a lot of people discussing this hot
issue on both sides of the fence both here and elsewhere. LOTS of folks
and lots of comments to whom to respond for anyone...

In the UK rabies is not a problem still last I heard.

ADV has been a serious problem in some parts of Britain for some time now.
There's a club page with a fine vet article on it in Britain. Though it
won't come up for me right now it should be at
