Jim Wilson is a wonderful pen and ink artist and, until recently, only
drew wildlife. He has recently moved into domesticated animal drawings.
He lives in Gainesville, FL. I have bought many of Jim's prints and his
wildlife calendar over the years. A number of years ago, while talking
to him at an art show, I started nagging for him to draw a ferret. I
sent him bunches of pictures (prints--no computer pictures back then)
but he never did the drawing . Then, several years ago, I was at an art
show and there was a beautiful pen and ink of a ferret face!!! I was so
excited! He said his brother had gotten a couple of ferrets and had
nagged him to draw them. He gave in to his brother. The ferret face is
on his website and can be purchased on a coffee mug. I have it as a
framed print and also have a coffee mug. It is gorgeous!

I am now talking to him about adding an opossum to his drawings. For
some reason, he has never done one, but is interested in doing so. I
have sent him several pictures of my unreleasable opossum, Asia, and
hope we can use her as a model. She actually is a very pretty little
girl! I've even offered to take her to him for a photo shoot, so he
can get the pictures he needs to do the drawing. I'm hoping to see my
Asia make it into his calendar one day.
