Bill Gruber:
I have long appreciated your efforts, I feel sure I have told you so
and you have done an excellent job at your thankless task.
[Moderator's note: it's not thankless - I get thanked all the time. BIG]

Your limiting posts to 150 lines sounds more like something out of AOL. I
think you either need more help or a different approach. Automatically
bouncing 151 line posts from people who don't know, don't care, and have no
control over how many header lines exist is unwise. I think you can
encourage shorter posts, edit posts, reword things, but I don't think you
 should do what you said.

I have found some of the very long posts to be of great value. I admit
there is a lot of crap on the fml, but the judgement of value is not for me,
or any one individual.

In particular, there have been some disgusting political posts of great
volume which I would personally have enjoyed censoring, but there have also
been great informative works which I keep and cherish. There have also been
the painful outcries of those who have lost loved ones, and these have a
place, and are needed desparately.

The absolute worst thing you can do is to mechanically and automatically
reject unseen any post beyond a specific limit. This is not in the caring,
concerned, fair, honest character you have demonstrated in the past. You
 are overworked, and need help.

[Moderator's note: No, I don't reword posts - that's too risky to me.
Remember though that people can always send the posts directly to me and
I'll try to post the long ones on a slow day - there is already one such
post pending. Thanks for your thoughts though. BIG]
