Can someone tell me how and what ultrasound's are used for? Boris still has
problems pooping. Sometimes nothing happens, most poops pretty small.
Fairly large and frequent doses of cat lax seem to help so I'm practically
using that as a regular "medicine". I don't think (I hope not) he has a
partial blockage, I could be wrong but if so it's been going on for several
months. I was wondering if an ultrasound could show any problems with his
spinchter and surrounding area?

Had a bad scare yesterday. I was reading and heard a ferret sort of hacking
so I got up and it was Giesela. I gave her a little more cat lax than I
intended (sort of jumped out of the tube) and she gulped it down maybe a
little too fast. In about 5 minutes she was in a lot of distress throwing
up, trying to throw up, throwing up some more, inbetween even took a little
poop. I was trying to see to her, grab the carrier, call the vet and get my
shoes on all at once. Got emergency service and had to wait for the vet to
call back. Meanwhile it seemed like she was done, then threw up just a
little, again. Finally she quit and seemed fine so I went on "investigative"
clean up duty. First sample looked like cat lax and whipped cream. Cat lax
I could understand, the white stuff was a mystery. Other samples looked
like normal stomach contents (have I grossed anyone out yet?:) As I was
looking around in other rooms to see if she had been doing any of this
before, I noticed something right off the bat. A black/brown/black
catepiller in the second bedroom (I had vacummed that morning and it wasn't
there then). A small portion looked like it may have been gone -
specifically a small portion of the back end. Now I have seen her eat a
worm. Does anyone think that she may have eaten a little bit of catepiller
and that's what started the hacking? Its been 18 hours and she still seems
fine. Would a catepiller cause her to throw up? Are catepillers poisonous?

Thanks, Mary,
Boris (who has hidden the contents of my entire sock drawer and I cant find
them anywhere!) and
Giesela - who will it appears eat anything (but the chicken meat I try to
give her when I am eating)
