Hello all.

I have been a member here for years. But I don't read every day as I
used to. I am still owned by the little ones. They are old, on meds,
adrenal, but enjoying free roam, soup, and all the tubes, toys, boxes,
blankets, and love. I spent years making and donating ALL the ferret
miniatures I made to ferret shelters to raise money. I never asked for
a penny.

I was owned by the first ferret calander guurl....Mini Me. I wrote
numerous stories about her, and her pictures still grace my walls. I
think I have ferret ghosts brush up against my ankle occasionally. I
look down at nothing, and tell the air next to my ankle that whoever
it is...I love them.

We have had so many people over the years request money. And most were
probably most worthy of our help. I just do not understand about this
bringing of a goat to America.

Where is this person going to live? You cannot bring a goat just
anywhere. If there is no money to care for a sick goat now, which one
of you is going to pay for its care here???

Is there a sick ferret also? Sorry. I see there is a most generous
attempthere to raise a few hundred to give to this lady. But I don't
see how it will help any animals.

People have such big hearts here. Please, could someone explain how
someone who has enough money to come back to America and buy or rent
a farm for a goat, and enough to feed it and get it vet care once the
animals come here.... has no moneyto care for them there?

Where is this person moving to? Has she already incurred large debts
such that she would have bad credit here in America? If she has a poor
credit rating, I do not know how she would be able to find a place for
herself to live, let alone an animal....let alone a goat. She wrote of
an unfortunate failed business, I believe. So, the credit rating cannot
be good...can it?

Could someone who KNOWS the lady and all the financial facts clarify
the situation?

Some years back, a lady came to the FML saying she had her shelter
ferrets taken away from her. She needed money immediately for a lawyer.
It turns out she was a hoarder.

This is not a hoarder, from my limited understanding. But does it make
sense to donate hard earned money if the owner of the animals has no
money and bad credit now. These poor animals will come here with no
where to house a donkey or sick ferret and/or no money for its care?

Maybe it would be better for those of us who want to help to set money
aside now, and when this person gets to the states, and has housing for
the animals, give money to the vet here....unless someone is going to
be donating thousands of dollars for home, barn, and vets?

I welcome thoughts of those who can vouch for this person and knows
there is a home and health care waiting here that will be paid for.
Apologies to anyone I may have offended in these questions. I have
never had diplomatic skills. My wording is really terrible compared
to many of you.

Sincerely,
Lisette

[Moderator's note: As always, Lisette's concern is with the ferrets and
the needs of the many shelters. She asks questions which others may be
wondering about as well. I asked Nell to explain a bit more. Nell's
response appears below. BIG]
