Hi, i'm new to the list (and ferret ownership), but i have worked with
reptiles for years, and am intimatly familiar with salmonella. there has
always been this stigma, if you will, concerning salmonella and reptiles.

Here's my two cents on this whole "issue": There are over 200 strains of
salmonella. Some strain or another can be found anywhere. There are
even strains that are carrried by humans (in the lower digestive tract,
much like many other illnesses). Salmonella can be found anywhere,
especially on produce. The thing is, humans are not even affected by
most of these strains. There is an iguana site with many, many pages
of info on salmonella, if you scroll down you will see all the links

hope this helps somebody!
